Pillow Shams

October 3, 2012 By Mary

I made some pillow shams following the Design Sponge Pillow Sham Tutorial. I found the fabric at a local discount fabric store and fell in love with it immediately. It was green with turquoise accents. What’s not to love?

Duralee Flora Imerialis- Moss

The tutorial was well written and had lots of pictures to follow along with.  I made sure to wash and dry the fabric before sewing to take care of any shrinkage.  That is always a step I want to skip, but I learned the hard way.  The finished product looks professional with all the seams enclosed.

You can find the post about the Paint by Number pillow here.

I found a sweet nightstand at an estate sale which I will share soon. Hopefully, I can get some finished room pictures together in the next few days to show you how things are coming along.

Check out more DIY pillow ideas here.

I love the fabrics you chose! The green fabric looks like vintage barkcloth. So pretty with the little vase on the nightstand.

There are several things I just love in your bedroom. Love your painted pillow and I think that’s a great idea. Love the double framed art on the room. Love your new fabric. It’s all so pretty and restful…looks collected over time. That’s what I like and hope to achieve.
