And So it Begins… Yard Sale Season

May 14, 2012 By Mary

I went to my first yard sale of the season this past weekend.  It was one of those big community type yard sales held inside a hall.  Indoors is good this time of year in New England, because you never know what the weather will be like.  Sure enough it was raining, but that didn’t stop the shoppers.  It was busy.
I always get overwhelmed at these big yard sales because there is so much to look at.  This time I went armed with a list of things I was looking for.  If my mind wandered I could refer to my list.
I was looking for lamp shades that I could restyle, small tables that would work as a night stand, and frames. I didn’t find anything on my list, but I ended up bringing home two vases.  They look like mid-century pieces.  I loved the shape and color.  The tall one was $2.00 and the small one was 50 cents.  Not bad for my first outing.

I already found a new home for them.

I put them on top of a cupboard in the kitchen

I never go to garage sales with a list. I should try that! I might not come home with so much random stuff that way 🙂
