DIY Canvas Art

DIY Canvas Art

DIY Canvas Art-

Here is a super quick and easy DIY abstract art piece that requires absolutely no skills at all.  If you can make a five pointed star shape, then you’ve got this one.

I wanted something simple, but large on the left side night stand, because I like balance, and the right side of the bed has one big sliding door. This piece fit the bill. You can personalize it by making it any size and color you like.

DIY Canvas Art Supplies

SUPPLIES

Any size canvas – I used a 18″ x 24″ canvas

2 fl. oz. white acrylic paint or any color you like for the background – I used Martha Stewart Craft Paint – Summer Linen in Satin –

2 fl. oz red acrylic paint or any color you like for the lines – I used Martha Stewart Craft Paint – Habanero in Satin – You will want a full bottle of this paint to prevent splatters.

Martha Stewart 1.1 mm Fine-Tip Top

Paint brush

Painter’s tape and ruler (optional)

DIRECTIONS

1. Start by painting the canvas in the background (white) color. Let dry.

2. (Optional) – Once dry, tape off a two inch border all the way around the edge of the canvas.

3. Attach 1.1 mm fine-tip top directly onto squeeze bottle of paint.

4. Gently squeeze the bottle to apply paint in continuous five pointed star pattern over lapping the stars. Fill in the entire space.

Clever and it looks great! BTW, I see a bit of the bedding by the painting and recognize it. I have the same 🙂

That is very old Ralph Lauren bedding, but is so soft and has held up perfectly over the years.
