These chunky cable knit throws are great for cuddling up on the sofa to read a book or watch a movie in the winter months. I like to knit, but I don’t think I could buy the yarn for less than $30.

I have crocheted no telling how many throws in my day and use them and give as gifts. You are so right- you couldn’t buy the thread for $ 30, not to mention the hours that it takes to make one! I will be checking these out. Thanks for the tip.

I like to knit, but a cable knit throw would not only take forever to knit, it would cost a small fortune for the wool blend yarn! I’ll be checking out the throw on my next visit to IKEA. Thanks for finding it!

I have one from Pottery Barn with fleece backing, but I’d buy one from IKEA in a heart beat! A true bargain.

I love when you do these comparisons 🙂 I’ve loved that Pottery Barn throw for ages, but now I can actually afford one, courtesy of IKEA 😉 thanks for doing the leg work for me!

Great share Mary! Years ago I took my husband to PB and he looked at the prices and told me “we aren’t pottery barn people…we are ikea people”. Lol, so you can guess which one I’m pinning!

I have one of those throws from Ikea, it’s not a 100% substitute for a PB or a Ralph Lauren throw in a natural yarn, but it works. Eventually a white throw in a family room is going to meet with a spill or stain. Mine is in a house at the shore and it’s a nice weight for cool summer nights. I’ve got it over a white (Ikea) chair to keep sandy bottoms off the slipcover. The PB throw would be better in a bedroom where life is a little more sedate.
