Kitchen Herb Garden

April 23, 2012 By Mary

Last year I bought some cute herb markers and a bread box to contain a little herb garden in my kitchen until it could be planted outside.  I enjoyed it so much that I decided to bring it back again this year.
I found the bread box at a local shop.  I loved the plaid on the outside.  It was a little scratched and dented, but that made it less expensive and perfect for an herb container because I didn’t have to worry about it getting rust stains.  I lined the bottom and half-way up the sides with some heavy duty plastic using floral tape.  I transplanted small starter plants into bigger pots and placed them inside the bread box.
The herb markers are from an Etsy Shop called Camp Pine Needle.  The hand-drawn, hand-stamped cedar shingle markers are inspired by old seed packets and botanical drawings.  They are really beautiful.
Now, I just have to remember to water these babies!

I’ve been planning since long now in making my small kitchen garden, ahd were in search for nice ideas to do it. Your’s is very good, very handy to have the herbs just right there in kitchen, and that too in that small bread container. Congratulations, your kitchen garden is superb, I love it.
