Honey Cornbread
Serves 8

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3/4 cups yellow cornmeal
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 425*. Grease a 9" square pan, set aside.
2. Beat egg. Add milk, honey and melted butter and mix well. Set aside.
3. In a medium bowl, sift together dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients to egg mixture and mix just until blended. Do not over mix.
4. Pour into pan evenly and bake for 18 - 20 minutes.
5. Serve warm with butter and honey. Enjoy.
