Bureau Painted in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint

Bureau Painted in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Emperor’s Silk

This bureau got a quick update with a sample pot of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Emperor’s Silk.  I love the warm red color.

The finish on this bureau wasn’t the best, but I did like the dark wood, so I just painted the drawer fronts to add some color and warmth to the piece.  I used one entire sample pot of Emperor’s Silk and I was able to paint each drawer front with several coats.  A little goes a long way.

I finished it off with a clear coat of wax and some new handles.

I do love the warmth and splash of color that this update added to the guest room.

I found your blog thru Cozy Little House’s feature also. Love that high boy, the style is old fashioned, love the little wheels also. Think leaving the dark wood was great choice with the red, really sets off the drawers. The red is gorgeous. Just subscribed, look forward to seeing what you’re up to.
Now I have to decide what color I’ll paint the drawer fronts on an old chest I have. It’s time for a little rehab.

The red really makes your artwork pop and adds a nice warm touch for the upcoming winter. You can’t go wrong with red!

I love this, Mary! The red looks so good with the darkness of the wood. I love using sample pots, too. You can get a few little projects out of them and I like being able to try some colors before I commit to the quart.

The red is gorgeous! That is definitely on the top of my to do list is to try Emperors Silk. I have covered two pieces of furniture with only sample pots, they are great when you want to try a daring color and only need a small portion. Yet, they go a long distance. 🙂

Nice little update to a cute dresser.

I just love it when someone out there in “paintland” uses two colors (red and brown) I never thought to put together in such an inspiring way. Great job!
