Paint by Number Pillow

While I had a little down time during our vacation (more on that later), I happened upon this post at A Beautiful Mess. It was a tutorial on how to make a paint-by-number pillow. I knew immediately that I would be making one and bookmarked it for my return home. It has all the crafts that I love in one project – painting and sewing. When I got home, I was at Michael’s buying the suggested paint colors before I had even unpacked my suitcase. That is how excited I was about it!

The instructions were clear and there is a down loadable paint-by-number guide. I taped my fabric to a board to stabilize it.

This is a fun project and you can use any colors that complement your decor. Wouldn’t it be beautiful in the Fushion Pillow (Anthropologie, $288) color combination, and think of all the money you will save.

This pillow will be perfect in the master bedroom. I have to get back to that project … soon … soon.

I’m off to unpack.

  6. This is great, Mary! Love the look of your pillow. I just bought a vintage Holly Hobbie paint by numbers at the thrift shop last weekend. I intend to paint it the colors of my daughter’s room. Oil Paint by Numbers was my grandmother’s hobby. So, i just think using them for pillows is a fab idea! Thanks for sharing with air your laundry friday…I shared via facebook too.
